Shellfish Hatchery Systems Ltd sponsor the hatchery

Following the installation of our space age Aquahive system, Directors Dennis Gowland and Richard Land of Shellfish Hatchery Systems Ltd offered corporate sponsorship to the National Lobster Hatchery.
Shellfish Hatchery Systems Ltd is a spin off company from Northbay Shellfish Ltd, based in Orkney, Scotland specialising in innovation in the shellfish sector. Not only are they leaders in research and development in the shellfish industry, they run a very successful lobster hatchery in Orkney that have seen over 250,000 juveniles produced over the last 3 seasons.
Earlier in 2010, we went to see their operation in Orkney and this new £14,000 Aquahive system is a big step forward to increasing our production. The aquahive holds an amazing 11,000 juvenile lobsters.
