Volunteering for Development

Published on: 01/03/2011

We are sadly coming to the end of a one year project, the 'Volunteering for Development programme' aimed at providing training and skills development to especially help unemployed and economically inactive individuals back into the workplace.  It has been incredibly successful with a total of 32 volunteers working at the Lobster Hatchery in just one year.

Some of the Volunteers have moved on to permanent jobs in their specialist area, others have been happy to offer one day a week and some have had a few weeks or months free before they leave for other comittments.

We've made lots of friends and avid supporters of the hatchery on the way.

If you are interested in helping out, please contact our Volunteer Co-ordinator, Carly Daniels by telephone on 01841 533877 or by email on carly.daniels@nationallobsterhatchery.co.uk.

The scheme is funded by the Community Grants Programme.
