Educational Leaflets to Empower Seafood Consumers

A series of educational leaflets are ready to give out in our Visitor Centre, forming an excellent resource for students, teachers and anyone interested in learning more about important fisheries topics.  The aim is to empower seafood consumers with greater knowledge so that they can make more informed, sustainable purchasing choices.

Coastal Foraging & Lobster Release at Trevone Beach

The National Lobster Hatchery, a marine conservation, research and education charity based in Cornwall, were delighted to join forces with Wild Thymes to run a coastal foraging workshop combined with a lobster release at Trevone on Saturday.

Education Blog – April 2017

It feels like spring has finally sprung in North Cornwall, as April has blessed us with several days of gorgeous blue skies and sunshine. As the weather improves, our lobster larvae production begins to increase as lobster eggs develop faster in warmer conditions. The calmer weather also means our fishermen are able to get out to sea more so we have an increased supply of ‘berried hens’ (expectant lobster mums to be).
