“we are a charity, every penny goes towards our vital conservation work.”

This page is dedicated to all of the people and organisations that make the NLH project possible. The Lobster Hatchery is guided by a Board of Trustees, all of whom give their time and experience on a voluntary basis.  A brief personal profile on all our trustees is available to download.  List of Trustees

The admission fee and donations from every visitor, grants from local, regional, national and European government, charitable trusts and the private sector all provide the financial support needed to run the project.

As we are a non-profit organization, none of the money that we receive goes into the pocket of shareholders, it all goes directly into supporting our vital marine conservation and research work.

Our thanks also go to the lobster fishing community, without their contribution of egg bearing female lobsters, there wouldn’t be any young lobsters to grow and release. The continued support of the fishing community is essential for the project to succeed.

“As we are a charity, we rely upon our admission fees and shop sales from our visitor centre, company sponsorship, public and private funding, and donations. With your help, we will be able to further invest in our ongoing conservation programme and new public displays.”
