Betheney Wills – University of Exeter
Following her graduation in Marine Biology and Oceanography from Plymouth University, Cornish-born Beth undertook a MSc in Aquatic Biology and Resource Management at the University of Exeter, for which she compiled a thesis study in collaboration with the Hatchery. She spent her time with us trialling the on-growing of hatchery-reared juvenile lobsters in mariculture containers at sea, research which spawned a published paper and paved the way for our Lobster Grower project, after which she was employed to help support opportunities for volunteers to join our team. Beth has moved East in recent years, sharing her knowledge and enthusiasm for marine life as a technician and crew member for the Marine Biology team in the School of Ocean and Earth Science, at the University of Southampton’s esteemed National Oceanography Centre. She has now undertaken a PhD studentship at the University of Surrey.
