Education Blog August 2016

The scorching summer days of August are a great time for events in Cornwall, and this year ‘team lobster’ are delighted to be made the beneficiary of the first ever Padstow Seafood and Beer festival!

The sun shone and the drinks flowed as over 800 people flocked to Prideaux Place for the festival, which focused on showcasing Cornwall’s best: crowds were entertained with non-stop live music whilst enjoying a great selection of sustainably sourced local food and drink – including, of course, plenty of seafood and beer!

Some of the South West’s greatest musical talent had toes tapping and the dance floor buzzing in a spectacularly lit luxury sailcloth marquee. In the relaxed summery atmosphere festival goers enjoyed delicious Cornish produce, washed down with cool artisan beer.

Families were entertained by the baby lobster display, fancy dress photo booth, crafts and face painting, while Badger Forest School kept children occupied with bush craft activities.  Larry the Lobster made an appearance, mesmerized by the ‘Figurehead’ sea shanty singers.

Fingers crossed that this fun-filled Festival will become a regular event in Padstow’s summer calendar!
