Emma Theobald – Research Assistant
Emma’s involvement in the hatchery began in 2014 when she started volunteering as assistant hatchery technician, following completion of a BSc in Zoology at University of Exeter (Falmouth). She has continued to be involved with the hatchery ever since, alongside roles for organisations such as Cornwall Wildlife Trust, the Marine Strandings Network and completing an MRes in bat ecology with the University of Exeter.
She is passionate about marine conservation, with a particular interest in fisheries sustainability, and is excited to be working as a part-time research assistant on the Lobster Grower 2 project. This collaborative project is pioneering research into the on-growing of European lobsters, while expanding on our scientific understanding of this species.
