A huge thank you to Nicky Turriff and her team at Harbour Holidays for renewing their Corporate Sponsorship and their on-going support to the National Lobster Hatchery.
Business Development Officer Clare Stanley said “We are incredibly grateful to Harbour Holidays for their continued support. The National Lobster Hatchery’s work is really important to Cornwall’s tourism industry so it’s great when local business’s recognise this and appreciate the importance of helping to sustain our marine environment and resources”.
In addition to their Corporate Sponsorship last year, Harbour Holidays also funded the second print run of our children’s book ‘Claude gets his Claws’, a story that follows a lobsters journey from egg under his mum’s tail to graduating at the Lobster Hatchery with proper claws! The book has been an excellent resource for our younger visitors who are fascinated by our baby and giant lobsters but also the process of restocking wild populations.
A copy of the book has been included in every welcome pack of Harbour Holidays properties so many of our holiday makers already know about the charity’s work before coming in to see the real thing.
Harbour Holidays specialise in holiday homes around Padstow and North Cornwall, providing superb luxury accommodation in idyllic settings and coastal retreats. Nicky said “We at Harbour Holidays appreciate what makes a holiday in Cornwall so special; from rock pooling on the beach and surfing the clean ocean waves. Mackerel fishing trips with dad and learning to sail for the first time on the estuary. Fishing off the harbour wall and soaking up the atmosphere in the quaint little Cornish harbours. Watching fishermen bring in their day’s catch and enjoying the delights of freshly caught seafood in a waterstide cafe or restaurant”.
It’s fantastic to receive on-going support from such a lovely friendly team and a local Padstow business. Thank you.
The National Lobster Hatchery really does need your support, if you would like to be a part of the NLH marine conservation, research and education project and help safeguard our vulnerable marine resources by becoming a Corporate Sponsor please contact us or view our Corporate page for more information.
