The most outstanding development for the 2015/16 financial year was the Charity’s success at securing funding for the Lobster Grower 2 (LG2) project. As of February 1st 2016 the Charity is now heading up Europe’s largest lobster research project (£3 million). This collaborative project follows on from ‘Lobster Grower’ and is a collaborative project that will set up the world’s first large scale on-growing site for clawed lobster, generate huge quantities of data, build an aqua-economic model, make further technical innovations and road map future technical and policy barriers to development and assess any environmental or welfare issues associated with the sea based container culture approach to rearing lobster.
